Introduction:

"Everywhere" is an upcoming game developed by Build A Rocket Boy, an innovative gaming studio known for pushing the boundaries of interactive entertainment. Set in a vast and dynamic open world, "Everywhere" promises to deliver a groundbreaking experience that blurs the lines between reality and imagination. As a Senior and Principal 3D Generalist at Netease Games, Guangzhou, China, I had the privilege of contributing to this ambitious project across both the Realistic and Stylized teams.

Game Overview:

In "Everywhere," players are invited to explore a sprawling virtual universe teeming with life, diversity, and endless possibilities. From bustling cityscapes to serene natural landscapes, every corner of the game world is meticulously crafted to immerse players in a rich tapestry of sights, sounds, and stories. With a focus on player agency and emergent gameplay, "Everywhere" offers a sandbox experience where players can shape their own destinies and forge meaningful connections with the world and its inhabitants.

Pipeline Overview:

The game design pipeline for "Everywhere" is a collaborative and iterative process that involves multiple disciplines working together to bring the game world to life. As a Senior and Principal 3D Generalist, my role encompassed various aspects of asset creation, optimization, and implementation within the Unreal Engine.

1. Environment Design:
   - Collaborating with the art direction team to conceptualize and create immersive environments that evoke a sense of wonder and discovery.

   - Leveraging my expertise in terrain sculpting, texture painting, and asset placement to craft realistic and stylized landscapes that enhance the player experience.   - Implementing level of detail (LOD) and collision meshes to

optimize performance without sacrificing visual fidelity.

2. Prop and Asset Creation:
   - Designing and modeling a diverse range of props, objects, and structures to populate the game world and add depth to the environment.
   - Texturing assets using a combination of hand-painted textures and procedural materials to achieve a balance of realism and stylization.
   - Collaborating with the animation and rigging teams to ensure seamless integration of props and assets into the game world.

3. Character and Vehicle Design:
   - Creating and animating memorable characters and vehicles that reflect the unique aesthetic and tone of the game.
   - Developing high-quality character models, rigging them for animation, and implementing them within Unreal Engine to bring them to life.
   - Iterating on designs based on feedback from the art direction team and playtesting sessions to ensure a cohesive visual identity and engaging player experience.

4. Unreal Engine Implementation:
   - Utilizing Unreal Engine's powerful tools and features to import, organize, and optimize assets for use in the game.
   - Fine-tuning materials, shaders, and lighting settings to achieve the desired visual style and atmosphere.
   - Collaborating with programmers and designers to implement gameplay mechanics, interactions, and scripted events within the game world.

Overall, my contributions to "Everywhere" as a Senior and Principal 3D Generalist were instrumental in realizing the creative vision of the development team and creating a captivating and immersive gaming experience for players around the world.
